January 31

We had a nice lazy day.....I went to Mike's to see if there were any bargains to be found. No bargains for me, but I did find a solution to my eyelet, brad, and bling storage. And I used a JoAnn's 40% off coupon! This room will be organized!

January 30

Maegan, Kimberly, and Sara- friends since they were toddlers!

Friday means lunch with my mom and Aunt. They wanted Braum's. They like milk shakes. I wanted a brownie sundae. I got a grilled chicken sandwich. It was actually pretty yummy.
Sara looked beautiful for her engagement celebration! Pictures soon!

January 29

Sara and Aaron have an engagement celebration planned for tomorrow evening. At a yummy Mexican restaraunt. They have a room reserved and invited some close friends. We shopped and got some amazing decorations. Candy kisses, diamond bling, silver curly ribbon, candle holders, the cutest crown to put on the cutest red velvet cake. Balloons that say "He proposed, she said yes!" silver rings tied with white ribbon.
What a blessing to see that the guy you have prayed for way before you met him, way before she was old enough to be married, is right here, right now! They're good together. They are best friends!

January 28

We woke up to lots of ice. Sara's appointments canceled. Scott was feeling better. Josh's work called and told him to come in late. Jake.....Jake was probably sleeping. By the afternoon, the ice was pretty much gone, except on my car! Solid ice. It was in the shade all day. I borrowed Josh's jeep for Keeno. Keeno was fun, I won a few times. I came home with a Chik-fil-a gift card and a set of very cute Valentine towels. It is always a good evening with lots of laughs!
Roxy did not know what to think about the ice. She slipped on it, and looked to see what happened. She tried to get it off of the deck! An icicle fell of the gazebo and landed beside her. She had to bark at it for a few minutes. She loves the cold and played out in it as much as we let her. Charlie boy hates it!

January 27, Tuesday

Today I had planned to scrap with COS and play Keeno with my Keeno group. Both were cancelled for the evening. Ice. Sleet. Freezing Rain.
Keeno was rescheduled for Wednesday night. I love Keeno and hate to miss the fun. I am so thankful she is moving it to Wednesday!
Scott has a root canal scheduled for Monday. It was really hurting today, so he called in to work. A mixed blessing, this toothache. If he had worked in the ice, I would have worried about him all night. The last ice storm, a small truck with 2 teenagers, smashed into him. No one was hurt.
All the kids were home and we enjoyed a nice evening together...in seperate rooms lol.

January 26

Monday- just like every other Monday. Laundry, clean up from weekend, Scott went to library. I went to the grocery store. I stocked up in case we got iced in lol. Gotta have a good supply of snacks and Dr. Peppers!

January 25th,Sunday

This is my very sweet husband sitting in my room, reading a book, while I make yet another layout. He loves me!

My dear friend, Angie, went back and read what we had im'ed about on this day......obviously, I spend too much time on this computer lol. From our chat that day: We had China One for lunch, Scott rotated the tires on his truck, Josh's jeep was the victim of a hit and run in the Sonic parking lot- no damage lol, I labeled my pages for the weird everyday 12x12 swap, we had Popeye's for dinner.......Thanks Angie!

January 24

Saturday! Scott had an all day class with some buddies from work. I had another 'me' day. I love those!
Mother daughter brunch with my friends from school, elementary, Camp Fire Girls, and High School. Our Moms had been so involved with us, planning fun things, being leaders, etc. I have great memories of my childhood. I think my Mom enjoyed the morning.
*Memories from the morning- I am a Texas Girl's Choir drop out. Thanks Mom! They truely were meanies. Tammy is also a TGC drop out. She agreed they were mean. Sorry Tracee. Tracee's Mom admitted she suffered through the year after telling Tracee "If you start it , you will finish it!"
* We are all about the same age, 3 are gramma's, We have kids ranging from 4 to 24 lol.
* Everyone is happy and enjoying life!
After the brunch, I dropped Mom off, and picked up Deanna. Deanna is a hoot and she makes everything more fun! We headed over to an All Day Crop at Danna's church with our COS friends. I spent the rest of the day scrapping and laughing! I got to experience Angie's infamous cupcakes pops! A fun group of girls.
Sara went to a Bridal show. Scott scored a 240 out of 250!

January 23

My Aunts birthday is today. My mom and I took her to On The Border and enjoyed a great lunch. They went to a movie afterward- Inkheart. Scott was off, so I headed home. To watch him sleep...... Took Josh to Dr for asthma med refills. Ordered Cheddars for dinner. I do cook- occasionally! Made a yummy grape salad, pumpkin bread , and a fruit salad for a brunch tomorrow. Packed up my scrappy stuff for an all day crop. A fun day.

January 22

Today started out bad. I was supposed to meet my mom at 9:30 at a Cracker Barrel that is about 20 minutes away. At 8:59 I woke up. My alarm had not gone off. I promise I set it! I called my Mom and told her to drive slow! I made it by 9:50 and we were on our way- to OK. To a Winstar casino. Already two posts of the year have to do with gambling.....I am not a gambler, I'm too cheap. I would rather buy stuff and add it to my collection of stuff, than throw it into a machine....

But my Mom enjoys the slots. And I love my mom, so we are on our way to OK. 2 hours later we are at the slots and gettin richer- or poorer with every push of the button. My favorite part of the day, besides sharing it with my mom? Free, unlimited Dr. Pepper refills. After hours of trying our luck, we head back to Fort Worth and enjoy a yummy bowl of stew at The Cracker Barrel.

January 21

Beautiful day outside! I spent it inside. Cleaning, cooking, and doing laundry.......I also went to Mike's . They know me there. I got the cutest 8x8 album. Chloe's Closet. I have emailed makingmemories to see if they have refills available. 10 pages will never be enough! I plan to use this for my circle journal.

January 20th

Tuesday! I love Tuesday! I have a great group of friends to scrap with on Tuesdays! I did a challenge layout. The challenge should you choose to do it is-
On one layout use: 1 diecut or punch. 2 pictures, 3 different cardstock, 4 patterns of paper, 5 buttons, 6 bling, 7 staples, 8 inches of ribbon, 9 stamps, 10 brads!
It was easier than I thought and I think it looks pretty good! I did another page to coordinate. The second page is the challenge. I don't have to do 2 page layouts, but I normally do, but it's not an obsession or anything.....
Sara is back to her regular schedule. Jake recorded at a Dallas studio today. Josh worked way too many hours. None of us watched the Inauguration.......

January 19th

Monday........I had planned to get a lot done today. I talked about it. I thought about it. I took a nap. I visited with a friend. I cooked 2 meals. I chatted on IM and facebook. I did not organize, clean, or do anything else I had planned today. But it was still a good day. I can organize tomorrow- or maybe Wednesday.....
Lindsey told me to get this Tetris cube for Jake for Christmas. Jake told me to get it for Lindsey. I got them one to share. Everyone has tried......no one has been successful. It makes you crazy. It looks easy. It isn't. It sucks you in. Step away from the CUBE........

January 18th

A really fun day! We spent the day with friends. Scott and Chris killed some paper. Angie, the girls, the boys, and me enjoyed a loud lunch. Then we spent the afternoon playing games. I finally have some Nertz players!!!!! Then a rowdy game of spoons-followed by Apples to Apples.

January 17th

I found an unexpected treasure today. I hadn't been looking for one, didn't even know I "needed" it until I saw it! A beautiful, junky, just like my granddad had, solid wood desk.

Scott agreed that it was perfect......and said he would fix it up and carry it upstairs lol. It even came with a matching chair- pokey springs and all..... for the bargain price of $30

A little TLC, some new handles, and it will be perfect for scrapping!

January 16th

Sara and friends are having a great time in Utah. Star sightings so far: Kevin Bacon and wife, Mariah Carey and husband. She will have to add other names.....I'm not big on names. Mariah's husband was the DJ at a party they attended. Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite was dancing fool, both nights. I will be glad when she is home!

January 15th

Oh, to be young and carefree again! Sara and her bff are off for a fun-filled long weekend at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. They have a good friend that will be leading the way. They had a good flight and arrived safely.

January 14th

My Whimsy Jar Swap. Hmmmm, today I went back to Amy's to crop some more. And we watched American Idol. It is so much more fun to watch with friends! I have a great life. lol

edited to add: I also made lunch and dinner, cleaned the kitchen, did 4 loads of laundry, talked to my mom 2 times, and a cagillion other random things!

January 13th

Today I cropped with COS. I was there from 11 till 10. I think I completed 10 layouts- 2 with pictures, 8 swap layouts, and a few odds and ends for my whimsy jar swap, that has no whimsy and no jar...... Not too bad, considering how much laughing we did! Amy is a great hostess and it is a fun bunch.

January 12th

This is the before picture. I can't believe I have this great space and it looks like a pit! I just haven't been motivated to organize it. On the disboard, there is an organizing challenge. I need it! Stay tuned for the after picture......

Jake's band had a show at Molly's. They are extremely talented and it always amazes me to see them perform. Jake is in his element up on stage, playing his music.....

January 10th

Tonight we had dinner with someone I have been friends with since we were in first grade. We met her husband for the first time. We had a wonderful dinner and great conversation. It is fun to reconnect with old friends.

Sara's first car was a convertible Mustang. Silver with a black top and pink wherever you could add it! It was a great first car and so much fun. Aaron helped her sell it and the guy picked it up today. A sad moment for me...........but we are so proud for her.

January 9th

I had a very fun, busy day. First, I had lunch with my mom and aunt at Cracker Barrel. Love to go there! Shopping and eating- 2 of my favorite things all at one place! The kids all had various plans- Scott was busy. So, I had a girls night planned! I picked a friend up and we headed to a crop. I scrapbook. and swap.....and this is a group of friends that get together and chat and laugh! And sometimes I even get some scrapbooking done. I finished one layout for a challenge. In 6 hours...lol. It is a lot of fun and a great group of friends.

My kit arrived today! WOOOHOOOOO!

The reason for this blog-other than because I wanted one....is to keep up with my project for the year. 365 pictures of our life-one each day. And it all goes in this beautiful kit. I was lucky and got one.

Josh said when he turned 18 he would buy a lottery ticket. He bought a $10 scratch off and won $10! We won't talk about the other 2 he bought and won nothing. My baby is 18.......I blinked.
